About Simu

Simu's Origin

Simu started out as a very simple sandbox universe for me to house my OCs in when I initially started to feel a decline in my passive interest for Dragon Ball. Not wanting to give up on some of my favorite OCs just becuase I wasn't quite in the mood to engage with the source material they were based in, I began to put together something of my own based on the things I liked about Dragon Ball's setting combined with things I liked from various other settings. The resulting universe was the first draft of Simu, barebones as it had been at time time with only the vague notion of "A simulated universe containing a binary system".

My oc Karina was the first to be used in the setting, and it was through writing and refining much of her story that I really got a feel for what I wanted the universe to be. Vague notions were expanded into established fact, and the framework of a proper world was required to house Karina and her ever-growing story! Two OC races has slowly evolved into more, vague notions have expanded into full lore documents, and now there's a whole handful of characters to be found within the world of Simu!

This page will only serve as a cursory introduction to Simu itself, as there are far too many documents' worth of information to be summarized, but hopefully you'll feel interested enough to take a peek through said documents!

Introduction to Simu

In a world some few centuries down the line past our own, humanity's living situation is dire. Natural resources have been burned away by greed and ""progress"", and overpopulation threatens to cripple mankind every day. Interstellar travel is still in the most prototypical of states and the scattered hydroponics greenhouses both on the surface and in space only provide just enough to keep mankind trudging along.

With a solution needed but nowhere to turn, some of the world's top scientists came together to create a simulation so true to life that its data could perhaps be used to give them new ideas and ways to innovate. Within this simulation, dubbed Simu, two Earthlike planets were placed in a binary system

Chonol, a planet of people whose sole goal is progress, no matter the cost.

Alori, a planet of people who seek to preserve their planet just as much as they wish to achieve technological advancement.

Two planets with two methodologies to their way of life and survival. Centuries upon centuries of data about civilizations, technology, spirituality, and more funneled into the simulation to give it the most close-to-real-life design it could have. With any luck, one or both of these planets would survive, and that would light the way to the creators' own survival.

Despite the advent of Simu, other methods of escape hadn't been counted out. Among the results of this other research was a much greater understanding of quantum dimensions, spawned in the hope of perhaps hopping to some parallel dimension where the world still had much more life in it, or simply a way to improve their own world. The very building blocks upon which their own world was built on now seemed dangerously malleable, and it was only a matter of time before someone decided to play god..

Upon hearing of some of the most cutting-edge quantum advancements being discovered, the head of the Simu team proposed a dangerous but lucrative idea to his coworkers: make Simu real. They had the technology, and the power requirements could easily be satisfied by the thorium reactor that powered their labs. Research into the concept showed that it had a high chance of success, with the only question being that of scale rather than possibility.

Some among the group wanted it to be a full-scale universe, a mirror image of their own world. Others wanted it to remain a simulation completely, fearing the ripple effects of creating a whole universe and simply hoping to give it enough tangibility to perhaps beam oneself into it in the form of data. The compromise that was settled on was one of a pocket dimension: a smaller universe, contained within their own plane of existence. Perfect for not only continued observation, but perhaps to someday enable them to abandon their home planet and enter the universe themselves.

Thus, Simu evolved from a mere simulation to a real world full of life, progress, and entropy... with all of the benefits and pitfalls that such a thing entailed.
